Beta Testing Terms
Last Updated:
14 October, 2026
About these terms
Vela Beta gives a small group of members early access to new versions of the Vela app, so they can test them and tell us what they think. These terms apply to the beta programme only. They sit alongside the Vela Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, which still apply to your account.
If these terms and the main Terms disagree on anything about the beta, these terms apply. The programme is run by REESET.EARTH LIMITED, trading as Vela ("we", "us").
Joining the beta
Places are by invitation, and we choose who to invite. We may open the programme to more members in phases.
You need an active Vela account in good standing.
You join by confirming in writing that you agree to these terms, for example by replying to our invitation email.
You'll install beta builds through TestFlight (iPhone) or Google Play testing (Android). You need to give us the email linked to that store account.
Taking part is voluntary and unpaid, unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
Your place is personal to you. Please don't share invite links, builds or access with anyone else.
Beta software
Beta builds are unfinished and are provided as they are, without the reliability you'd expect from the live app.
Features may not work, may change a lot, or may never be released.
We may pause, change or withdraw a beta build or feature at any time.
You may sometimes need to reinstall the live version of the app.
Please keep using the live app's normal support channel for anything about your account, points or rewards.
Confidentiality
Everything you see only because you're in the beta is confidential until we release it publicly. Please keep it within the beta group and your conversations with us.
What's confidential
• Unreleased features, designs, screens and wording
• Beta builds and their version numbers
• Screenshots, screen recordings, photos or descriptions of any of the above
• Bugs, crashes or problems found in beta builds
• Anything we share about upcoming plans, partners or release dates
Where it must not go
The Vela members WhatsApp group or any other group chat, social media, forums, review sites, the press, or friends and family. All feedback goes to the private beta group or to [beta email address].
What isn't confidential
• Anything once we've released it publicly. Confidentiality for a feature ends the day it reaches the live app.
• The fact that you're a beta tester.
• Your experience of the live app, your own account, points, rewards and support, including public reviews of the live app.
• Anything you're required to disclose by law.
Feedback
We welcome honest feedback, including when you don't like something. Negative feedback shared privately with us is exactly what the beta is for and never counts against you.
We may use any feedback, ideas or suggestions you give us to improve Vela, without paying you or crediting you. We won't publish your name alongside your feedback without asking first.
Points and rewards
Points you earn normally aren't affected by joining the beta. Beta builds can contain bugs that give out too many or too few points.
If a beta bug awards points in error, we may correct your balance. We'll tell you when we do.
If a beta bug means you miss points you should have earned, tell us and we'll put it right.
Points from features being tested in beta may be reset or adjusted before the feature launches publicly. We'll say upfront when a feature works this way.
If these terms are broken
Sharing confidential beta information publicly is a breach of these terms. Before acting, we'll tell you what we believe happened and give you a chance to respond.
If we confirm a breach, we will:
Remove you from the beta programme and end your access to beta builds.
For a serious or repeated breach, we may also, in line with the Vela Terms and Conditions:
Suspend your Vela account.
Remove your unredeemed points balance.
Rewards you've already received are not affected.
Leaving the beta
You can leave at any time by telling us, then reinstalling the live app. We can end your place, or the whole programme, at any time with notice where we can.
When your place ends, please delete beta builds. The confidentiality section keeps applying to anything you saw until it's released publicly.
Your data
For the beta we collect a few extra details, used only to run the programme and improve the app.
What we collect
Your App Store or Google Play email
Your phone model and operating system
Crash reports and diagnostics from beta builds
Your feedback and messages in the beta group
Why
To send you beta builds. Apple or Google receive it as part of this.
To reproduce bugs on the right devices
To find and fix problems
To improve features before release
We delete beta-only details within 30 days of you leaving the programme. Everything else is covered by the Vela Privacy Policy.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will tell beta members before any change takes effect. Questions go to support@velarewards.com
